Introduction to 802.11n Technology

802.11n is the future wireless network standard; using the MIMO technology that uses multiple antennas to improve performance and range significantly from the traditional wireless systems.

In this example, it shows a typical coverage of a regular 802.11g signals. The red zone represents the best performance. The blue represents lower performance. In this example, it shows a typical wireless coverage with 802.11n technology. Again, the red zone represents the best performance. The blue represents lower performance.

As you can see the 802.11n technology provides a much improved performance and range over the typical wireless coverage of a standard 802.11g. On average the performance doubles (up to 108 Mbps in data rate) with the 802.11n technology, in comparison to a standard 802.11g (up to 54 Mbps). Plus the 802.11n wireless range coverage is increased in folds over the 802.11g!

With the 802.11n technology in wireless access points and routers, it can improve 802.11g client adapters' thoughput data rate as well!

The 802.11n technology increases speed, coverage and network reliability in the wireless technology; allowing you to stream rich multimedia applications such as videos, large datas, and high quality audio.
